Whether you’re a new patient or a returning one, understanding how to prep for your appointment can alleviate anxiety and streamline your visit. Why Is Preparation Important?
Proper preparation is crucial in maximizing the effectiveness of your treatment and ensuring you receive the best care possible. At Virginia Laser Specialists, we value your time and strive to provide you with the highest level of service. By following our pre-appointment guidelines, you can help us deliver efficient and personalized care tailored to your needs.
Steps to Prepare for Your Appointment
Follow these simple steps to prepare for your visit to Virginia Laser Specialists:
- Arrive Early: Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete any necessary forms and to allow time for any additional questions you may have.
- Confirm Your Appointment: Ensure you have the correct date and time by checking your confirmation email or contacting our office if you have any questions.
- Gather Necessary Information: Bring a list of any medications you’re currently taking and any relevant medical history. This information will help us provide safe and effective care.
- Follow Pre-Treatment Instructions: Depending on the treatment, you may need to avoid certain activities, such as sun exposure or using specific skincare products. Follow any pre-treatment instructions provided by our team.
- Pre-Treatment Care:
- Please do NOT wax, tweeze, bleach, tread or use depilatories on the area being treated 2-4 weeks prior to treatment.
- DO shave the treatment area(s) the morning of or the night before your appointment.
- If needed feel free to leave a small patch to show the technician the color and texture of the hair before treatment.
- Do NOT have any sun exposure/sunburn/tan (including spray tan) 2-4 weeks prior to treatment.
- If treating the face, do not wear make-up the day of treatment. Also do not use products containing Alpha or Beta Hydroxyl acids, Retinol or Retin-A for at least 3-7 days before and after treatment.
- Recent antibiotic use can also cause photosensitivity. Must be off Accutane (isotretinoin) 6 months prior to treatment.
